Costco is now on DoorDash across the United States.
To that end, members can now order groceries, pantry staples, household essentials, electronics, seasonal merchandise, and Kirkland Signature products from any U.S. warehouse, with same-day delivery.
The launch comes a day after Costco expanded its Uber Eats delivery from 17 states to 47, putting the warehouse club on all three of the country’s biggest delivery apps, Instacart, Uber Eats, and now DoorDash.
While the U.S. rollout is the largest expansion to date, the two companies already operate together in Australia, New Zealand, Sweden, Iceland, and Puerto Rico.
Consumer demand is what drove the timing, with Costco having ranked among the most-searched retailers that weren’t yet on the platform. “Costco members have been asking for Costco on DoorDash, and today we’re delivering,” said Mike Goldblatt, Vice President of Enterprise Partnerships at DoorDash, in a statement.
“By pairing Costco’s quality, value, and selection with DoorDash’s reach and local delivery network, we’re giving members more flexibility in how they shop. The U.S. launch also marks the next chapter in a global partnership already serving Costco members around the world,” Goldblatt added.
Placing an order requires a Costco membership. The steps are easy enough. You simply need to open the DoorDash app, search for Costco, pick a local warehouse, then link your existing membership when prompted.
Customers can then shop for more than 4,000 products that are available per location. Folks without a membership can buy one through Costco.com and link their new account afterward.
With Costco on board, DoorDash now does business with eight of the 10 largest food retailers in North America, according to the PG 100, an annual ranking of the top retailers by sales published by the trade magazine Progressive Grocer.
