Stranger Things collab brings 1980s glow to snack aisle

Chips Ahoy! X Stranger Things!

Chips Ahoy is going places cookies usually don’t go—like alternate dimensions.

To mark the final season of Stranger Things, the 60-year-old cookie brand is breaking its own mold with a collaboration that’s more than just a logo swap. This time, it’s introducing something completely new: its first-ever fruit-filled cookie.

Yes, fruit. In a Chips Ahoy.

The limited-edition release wraps a chewy, fudge-chip-studded cookie around a bold red strawberry center. The look is meant to echo the glowing rifts from the Upside Down, but the flavor leans more chocolate-covered strawberry than sinister supernatural tear.

Even the packaging gets a nostalgic twist. In a nod to the show’s 1980s setting, the cookie sleeve comes decked out in a throwback design that glows in the dark. It’s retro, weird, and kind of perfect.

This isn’t the first time Chips Ahoy has played with unexpected ideas (cinnamon bun cookies, blondie bites, etc.), but the Stranger Things edition is its most stylized launch yet and probably its most visually bizarre. Still, it somehow works. Chocolate and strawberry? Classic. Glowing packaging and Netflix synergy? Very 2025.

The cookies land on shelves August 11 nationwide, with snack-size two-packs also rolling out—just in time for lunchboxes and Halloween candy bowls. A pre-sale launched July 21 for the first 1,500 fans impatient enough to portal in early.

Whether you’re binge-watching or just browsing the snack aisle, you might want to keep an eye out. This cookie looks like it came from another world, and it kind of did.
