The holiday season is officially tasting better, thanks to Chipotle, which is celebrating by offering an exciting buy-one-get-one-free deal this Saturday. All you need to do to snag free burritos, salads, or tacos is show up wearing a sweater. However, before you dig through your closet, there’s a major, highly specific, and non-negotiable requirement concerning which sweater you wear that determines whether you walk out with a free meal or pay full price.

Show off your festive sweater and score a free entrée

With National Ugly Sweater Day landing on Friday, December 19, Chipotle is giving fans a reason to extend the fun with its own twist: “Extra Sweater Day” on Saturday, December 20. Guests can flaunt their most festive, over-the-top, store-bought, homemade, or thrifted sweaters in restaurants and snag a buy-one-get-one-free entrée.

The BOGO offer kicks in after 4 p.m. local time on December 20. To qualify, guests must be wearing an “extra” sweater, as judged at the discretion of Chipotle staff. The free entrée will always be the lower-priced item from your purchase, and the promotion is limited to five free menu items per check. Purchased entrees still earn Chipotle Rewards points, but the deal cannot be combined with other coupons or promotions.

Eligible entrees include burritos, burrito bowls, quesadillas, salads, and tacos, while kids’ meals are excluded from the offer.

Chipotle’s “Extra Sweater Day” ends Unwrap Extra

The “Extra Sweater Day” BOGO marks the third and final December treat in Chipotle’s Unwrap Extra holiday promotion.

Earlier in the month, fans enjoyed two other BOGO offers as part of the same campaign: on December 6, guests received three free tacos with the purchase of three, and on December 13, Chipotle offered buy-one-get-one-free burritos.

“Unwrap Extra is about giving back to our fans and creating moments to come together around the food they crave with the people they love,” said Chris Brandt, President, Chief Brand Officer, in a statement. “With three consecutive Saturday deals and two surprise drops for every Rewards member, this is our biggest holiday promotion yet.”

Chipotle rewards members get extra holiday treats

In addition to the Unwrap Extra holiday campaign, Chipotle is also giving extra treats to its rewards members to fuel holiday festivities. Members can unwrap surprises like free guac, double protein, chips or a free drink, delivered directly to their rewards wallets. If you aren’t a rewards member yet, you can enroll in Chipotle Rewards by visiting chipotle.com/rewards.

Chipotle guests can help end childhood hunger this holiday

Chipotle has also teamed up with the nonprofit organization No Kid Hungry to make a difference this holiday season. From Wednesday, December 3, through Monday, December 22, guests ordering on the Chipotle app or Chipotle.com can round up their order total to the nearest dollar to donate, providing meals to children in need nationwide. So far in 2024, Chipotle has raised more than $825,000 to support programs working to fight childhood hunger.
