Burger King has been on a hot streak this year, stacking release after release. First came the BBQ Brisket Whopper, the kind of oversized, saucy creation that immediately took over TikTok.

Then it revived Cini Minis after more than a decade off the menu, which was enough to send nostalgic customers straight back to childhood. Halloween brought another wave with a pumpkin-faced Whopper, fang-shaped nuggets, and a swirl-heavy Franken-Candy sundae.

And now the chain is stepping into a different corner of pop culture, one where everything moves a lot faster.

Burger King’s latest kid-meal collaboration centers on a set of Sonic the Hedgehog toys, each one modeled after one of the franchise’s fan-favorite characters. Of course, they’re available only for a limited time, and the reaction online makes it pretty clear that adults are just as motivated to grab them up as kids are.

The lineup includes six figures: Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Amy Rose, Rouge the Bat, and Shadow. On top of that, the chain rolled out four themed crowns designed after Sonic, Tails, Amy Rose, and Knuckles; the kind of small detail that tends to vanish from drive-thru windows once collectors catch wind of them.

The meal itself sticks to the usual King Jr. setup. Customers can choose between a hamburger, cheeseburger, or chicken nuggets, paired with either fries or apple slices, plus milk, juice, or a small fountain drink. No chili dogs, of course, but the toys are doing most of the heavy lifting this time.

This fits with what Burger King’s been doing all year. The chain has pushed out a steady string of themed collectibles, moving from Naruto to How to Train Your Dragon to Scooby-Doo sets without losing steam. Each drop becomes another race to the drive-thru before the collectibles disappear, and the only sets left are the ones being resold online for triple digits on ebay.

If the Sonic toys follow that pattern (and all signs say they will), anyone hoping to snag all six figures should probably make a move sooner rather than later. Waiting too long usually means shelling out a lot more money after scrolling through eBay listings, not opening a fresh King Jr. box.
