Burger King is handing out free Whoppers to anyone willing to text a short code.

The limited-time deal opened on August 5, which requires customers to text “SEND-THIS-TEXT-FOR-FREE-WHOPPER” to “250783.”

Burger King will then reply with a link that can be redeemed in-restaurant the next day, after which the offer will automatically attach to your account. The deal has been redeemable since August 6.

It’s worth noting that the promotion is valid only for in-restaurant use, and it is a one-time-use offer per mobile number. You’ll also have just 14 days from the moment it lands in your account to make the best of it. And you can text STOP at any time to opt out of future communications.

While the company has not announced an end date for the giveaway, it is clear they are eager to get the burger into customers’ hands. A classic Whopper featuring a quarter-pound of flame-grilled beef topped with tomatoes, lettuce, mayonnaise, ketchup, pickles, and sliced white onions on a toasted sesame seed bun typically retails for $6.19.

Burger King launched the ‘Whopper Guarantee’ on July 20, and this giveaway falls under it, but in a different way. Both stem from the same “make it right” commitment that BK built after thousands of guests texted or called President Tom Curtis.

Unlike the standard Guarantee program, however, which remakes an unsatisfactory Whopper on the spot and provides a free one for a later visit via QR code, this text offer lets you claim a free classic Whopper for a future visit without the original purchase.
