Cheese fanciers will love this new deep-fried halloumi sandwich from Burger King.

Dubbed the Halloumi King, this sandwich is made of a deep-fried halloumi patty topped with mayo, onions, tomato, and lettuce – all nestled between two toasted buns. Sounds delicious, right? Well, there’s a catch.

The Halloumi King is only available in Sweden.

For the uninitiated, halloumi is a semi-hard, brined cheese traditionally made from either sheep’s or goat’s milk – some variants also blend in cow’s milk. Due to its high melting point – when compared to other cheeses – halloumi can be used to create unique dishes that are unachievable with other types of cheese.

Since the sandwich was first unveiled, Burger King’s Facebook and other social media accounts have been bombarded with hungry fans begging the fast-food chain to bring the Halloumi King to restaurants in the US and UK.

Only time will tell if the King will oblige.
