Burger King is reintroducing a sweet and savory favorite, fresh off the success of its original run in late 2024.

Starting February 24, the chain will roll out the Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper for a limited time. The burger was first selected during BK’s Million Dollar Whopper contest, where customers voted on their favorite creation, and now it is being brought back by popular demand.

The build is straightforward but loaded. What you get is a quarter-pound flame-grilled beef patty sitting under maple bourbon BBQ sauce, crispy onions and jalapeños, smoky maple candied bacon, and American cheese, all placed between a toasted sesame seed bun.

This return underscores the fast food chain’s continued push with the ‘Whopper by You’ platform, which has turned customer ideas into real menu items like last year’s BBQ Brisket and Crispy Onion Whoppers and the most recent release, the Ultimate Steakhouse Whopper, back in January, proving that fan feedback can directly shape menus year after year.

Sweet Breakfast Additions

Breakfast is getting a matching treatment. Two new morning items featuring candied maple bacon are joining menus the same day.

The Double Candied Maple Bacon, Egg & Cheese Croissan’wich includes a double portion of crispy candied maple bacon, egg, and American cheese on a croissant. The Candied Maple Bacon Burrito Jr. wraps four half-strips of the same bacon with hash browns, egg, and American cheese in a flour tortilla.

For now, all three items are limited-time offerings. Burger King hasn’t said how long they’ll stay, only that the rollout begins February 24, and while prices vary by location, the Maple Bourbon BBQ Whopper is expected to run around $8–9 à la carte, making it a premium but approachable limited-time treat.
