Apple quietly introduced a brand-new Mac this week, and it’s aimed squarely at everyday users who want the Mac experience without the usual premium price tag. The new MacBook Neo was unveiled on March 4 and is now available for preorder on Amazon, starting at $599.

Designed for students, casual creators, and everyday productivity, the MacBook Neo blends Apple’s modern hardware with a lighter, more approachable package. From the new A18 Pro chip to all-day battery life and a vibrant Liquid Retina display, Apple is positioning this machine as a versatile Mac for work, school, and entertainment.

A New MacBook for Everyday Users

At the heart of MacBook Neo is Apple’s A18 Pro chip, which delivers excellent performance for everyday computing tasks. Whether you’re organizing spreadsheets, browsing dozens of tabs, or playing Apple Arcade games, the chip is designed to keep things running smoothly.

The chip also enables Apple Intelligence, the brand’s growing suite of AI-powered tools. With these tools, you can summarize notes, work on writing tasks, and streamline productivity directly on the device.

Apple says MacBook Neo is ready to work the moment you open the lid, with macOS optimized to run both built-in apps and third-party software quickly. Popular apps like FaceTime, Messages, and productivity tools run seamlessly alongside Apple’s ecosystem features.

A Bright Display and All-Day Battery

MacBook Neo features a 13-inch Liquid Retina display with a resolution of 2408 x 1506. With up to 500 nits of brightness and support for a billion colors, the display delivers sharp text and vivid images.

Battery life is another highlight. Apple says the laptop can deliver up to 16 hours of battery life, which should easily get most users through a full day of classes, meetings, or travel without needing to hunt for an outlet.

Apple’s Most Colorful MacBook Yet

One of the most noticeable design changes is the color lineup. Apple is introducing MacBook Neo in four new finishes: Silver, Blush, Citrus, and Indigo. Each color also comes with a matching keyboard, giving the laptop a more expressive look compared to previous MacBook models.

The laptop still maintains Apple’s signature aluminum build, keeping it lightweight while remaining durable enough to travel in backpacks and laptop bags. It features 8GB RAM and up to 512GB storage, with the 512GB model being the only option with Touch ID.

Cameras, Audio, and Apple Ecosystem Features

The MacBook Neo also includes a 1080p FaceTime HD camera and a dual-microphone array designed to deliver clearer video calls. Two side-firing speakers with Spatial Audio support provide a more immersive sound experience when watching movies, listening to music, or joining virtual meetings.

As with other Macs, MacBook Neo integrates tightly with the Apple ecosystem. You’ll enjoy features like iPhone Mirroring, Universal Clipboard, and other features you’ll find in high-end Macs. The laptop also comes with built-in antivirus protection, FileVault encryption, and Find My tracking to help keep the device and its data secure.

The MacBook Neo is now available for preorder on Amazon following its March 4 unveiling. With its colorful design, AI-ready Apple silicon, and long battery life, Apple’s newest MacBook could appeal to students and everyday users looking for a modern Mac without stepping into the higher-priced Pro lineup.
