Nintendo raised the price of the Switch 2 in September, making its latest console a little more expensive for buyers. Thankfully, Woot is offering some relief by dropping the Switch 2 from $499 to $469.

The console builds on everything that made the original Switch a hit, including the freedom to play on your TV, in handheld mode, or with friends around a table. It adds a larger, sharper display, improved graphics, redesigned controllers, and new ways to connect with other players.

Why Choose the Nintendo Switch 2?

This console features a larger 7.9-inch LCD touchscreen with sharp 1080p resolution and HDR support. That’s a noticeable step up from the original Switch’s 6.2-inch 720p display, meaning you get more room to enjoy colorful game worlds, detailed characters, and fast-moving action.

The display also supports refresh rates up to 120Hz in compatible games, making gameplay look smoother when the action gets intense. And when you’re ready to play on a bigger screen, the included dock lets you connect the Switch 2 to a compatible TV for up to 4K resolution at 60 fps.

Like its predecessor, the Switch 2 offers three ways to play: TV, Tabletop, and Handheld modes. You can enjoy a game on your living room TV, set the console on a table for a quick multiplayer session, or play directly on the built-in screen while traveling.

Nintendo has also redesigned the Joy-Con 2 controllers, which now attach magnetically to the console instead of sliding into rails. The new design makes them easier to connect and remove, and they can also function as mouse-style inputs in supported games.

Another major addition is GameChat, which makes it easier to stay connected with friends while gaming. Press the C Button on the right Joy-Con 2 to start voice chat, share your gameplay screen, or even video chat using a compatible USB-C camera sold separately.

The console also includes a built-in microphone designed to filter background noise, helping your friends hear you more clearly. GameChat requires a Nintendo Switch Online membership, and video features require a compatible camera, but it’s a useful addition for players who enjoy multiplayer games and staying in touch with friends.

The Nintendo Switch 2 comes with 256GB of internal storage, giving you more room for downloaded games, updates, and other content. If you need more space, you can expand storage with a compatible microSD Express card.

At $469, the Nintendo Switch 2 isn’t getting a massive discount, but saving $30 on a newer gaming console is still worth considering. With its improved screen, flexible play modes, expanded storage, and growing game library, it’s a great choice for anyone who wants Nintendo’s latest generation of gaming. If you’ve been planning to pick one up, Woot’s lower price makes now a good time to consider it.
