Apple’s latest Pro iPhones are officially up for preorder at Walmart. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max are leading Apple’s launch this time around, with the standard iPhone 18 rumored to arrive sometime next year and the iPhone Duo expected in October.
Both Pro models bring some major upgrades, including Apple’s new A20 Pro chip, a 48MP Fusion camera with variable aperture, brighter 120Hz ProMotion displays, and a more powerful Siri AI experience. Battery life also gets a boost, with the 6.9-inch Pro Max offering up to 30 hours of use per charge and the 6.3-inch Pro reaching up to 24 hours.
Why Consider the New iPhone 18 Pros?
Both phones run on the new A20 Pro chip, which includes a dual 16-core Neural Engine built to handle increasingly demanding AI features. According to Apple, the chip also delivers up to 40% better GPU performance than the iPhone 17 Pro. Plus, you get a new cooling system designed to manage heat during gaming, video editing, and other demanding tasks.
The camera system gets a notable upgrade too. Both models feature a 48MP Fusion Main camera with variable aperture, giving you more control over depth of field while improving photos and videos in low light. You also get up to 8x optical-quality zoom and custom Pro controls for people who want to dig deeper into their photography.
Up front, an 18MP Center Stage camera makes it easier to fit more people into the frame. And Dual Capture can record with the front and rear cameras simultaneously, which can be handy for travel videos, reactions, interviews, and social media content.
On the display side, both iPhones use Super Retina XDR panels with ProMotion up to 120Hz, improved brightness, and better anti-reflection. Ceramic Shield 2 protects the front, while Ceramic Shield now covers the back for added durability.
Battery life also gets a boost, with Apple promising up to 24 hours of use on the iPhone 18 Pro and up to 30 hours on the 18 Pro Max. Both devices also get faster charging, as you can now go from 0-100% in 15 minutes with a compatible charger.
Siri AI is another major part of the experience. The upgraded assistant is designed to handle more natural conversations, open-ended questions, brainstorming, and other everyday tasks.
The iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max do not force you to choose between Apple’s biggest new camera and performance features. Instead, the decision mainly comes down to size and endurance. The 6.3-inch Pro offers the easier-to-carry package, while the 6.9-inch Pro Max gives you more screen and the best battery life. With preorders now open at Walmart, you can lock in your preferred model and color ahead of release day.
