Peacock is getting more expensive again, and this time, subscribers have another reason to wonder how much their streaming habit is really costing them. The NBCUniversal-owned service has raised prices across all of its plans, marking its fourth price increase in four years, with some tiers jumping by as much as $3 a month. But the latest hike comes at a particularly interesting moment for Peacock, just as the streaming service reaches a major milestone. Here’s how much Peacock now costs, when existing subscribers will feel the increase, and what the latest price hike could mean for your subscription.
Peacock raises prices across all subscription tiers
Peacock’s latest price increase will affect every subscription tier, giving customers another reason to reconsider how much they are willing to spend on streaming. The new rates took effect for new and returning customers on Aug. 18, while existing subscribers will begin seeing the higher prices on or after Sept. 17, depending on their individual billing dates.
Under the new pricing structure, Peacock Premium, the ad-supported plan, rises from $10.99 to $12.99 per month. Premium Plus gets a larger increase, climbing $3 from $16.99 to $19.99 per month. Meanwhile, Peacock Select, the more limited option focused on NBC and Bravo programming, increases from $7.99 to $8.99 per month.
The changes mean subscribers will pay more for access to Peacock’s growing mix of entertainment, sports and live programming. For customers who have stayed with the service through several previous increases, the latest adjustment also adds to a pattern of steadily rising streaming bills
Peacock’s fourth price hike in four years
The latest increase is not an isolated move for Peacock. The streamer last raised its prices in July 2025, following additional increases in each of the two years before that.
That makes the latest adjustment Peacock’s fourth price hike in just four years, highlighting how quickly streaming economics have changed since the service launched in July 2020.
Peacock is hardly alone in raising subscription costs. Major streaming platforms, including Netflix, HBO Max, Apple TV, Paramount+ and YouTube Premium, have also increased their prices over the past two years. As streaming companies look for ways to improve revenue and profitability, consumers are increasingly being asked to pay more for services that were once marketed as cheaper alternatives to traditional television.
The price increase comes after a major Peacock milestone
There is an important piece of timing behind Peacock’s latest move. The price hike arrives just as the streaming service reaches a milestone that NBCUniversal has been working toward for years.
Peacock recorded its first-ever quarterly profit in the second quarter of 2026. The service had 48 million paid subscribers at the end of June, adding 2 million net subscribers during the quarter.
The milestone represents a significant shift for a platform that launched in 2020 amid an increasingly crowded streaming market. With Peacock now generating a quarterly profit, the latest price increase could help the service build on that momentum while continuing to invest in its programming lineup.
Peacock subscribers now have more to weigh
The latest price increase puts Peacock in a familiar position across the streaming industry: offering more content while simultaneously asking customers to pay more for it.
For viewers who regularly watch Peacock’s live sports, NBC and Bravo programming, or popular originals, the higher monthly price may still be worth it. But for subscribers who rotate between multiple streaming services, another increase could make the decision more complicated.
With Peacock now profitable for the first time and its subscriber base continuing to grow, NBCUniversal appears to be betting that customers will continue to see enough value in the platform to accept the higher rates. The question is whether that value will remain strong enough as the monthly cost of streaming continues to climb.
