Walmart is making a much bigger push into Android tablets with the launch of six new Onn-branded devices, all running Android 16 right out of the box. The lineup includes everything from budget-friendly compact tablets to larger productivity-focused models and even kid-friendly versions.

The new tablets are available now, both online and in stores, with prices ranging from $97 to nearly $300, giving Walmart one of its most expansive Android tablet launches yet. With this launch, Walmart is taking a page out of Amazon’s book, providing excellent tablets at affordable prices.

The Onn 13 Pro Leads the Lineup

At the top of the range is the $288 Onn 13 Pro Tablet, Walmart’s most premium Android tablet so far.

The device features a large 13-inch 5K2K-style display with a sharp 2400 x 1600 resolution, paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage.

It also comes with a stylus and folio case in the box, giving you a more productivity-focused setup out of the gate. And you get features like face recognition, stylus input, and extended display mode, while its large screen makes it better suited for multitasking, streaming, or light creative work.

Midrange Core Tablets Focus on Value

Next up are the mid-range Core tablets, which come in multiple sizes. The 11-inch Core Tablet comes with a sharp 1840 x 1280 display, a MediaTek Helio G99 processor, 6GB of RAM, and 128GB of storage. It’s designed as an everyday entertainment and browsing tablet, supporting streaming, casual gaming, and multitasking.

The 8.1-inch Core Tablet offers a more compact option while still packing a Snapdragon 685 processor, 6GB of RAM, and expandable storage via a microSD card. And for anyone looking for an ultra-budget device, the $97 7-inch Core Tablet should sound appealing. Despite the lower price, it still includes Android 16, expandable storage, and a lightweight aluminum design.

Kid-Friendly Models Add Extra Protection

Walmart is also targeting families with two dedicated kids tablets, available in 11-inch and 8-inch versions. Both models include thick protective bumper cases with built-in kickstands, along with kid-focused software features and parental controls.

Walmart is also bundling a 45-day ABCmouse subscription with the devices. The larger 11-inch Kids Tablet includes stylus support, a MediaTek G88 processor, and a higher resolution. On the other hand, the smaller 8-inch Kids Tablet focuses on portability and durability, with a scratch-resistant display and a simplified setup for younger users.

Walmart Expands Its Budget Tech Push

One of the biggest highlights of the launch is that every model ships with Android 16 pre-installed, which is still relatively uncommon even among larger Android tablet brands. That gives the lineup access to newer Android features, updated security protections, and improved multitasking capabilities right out of the box.

With this new Onn tablet lineup, Walmart is aggressively targeting the affordable Android tablet market. Between the flagship 13 Pro model, multiple Core variants, and family-focused Kids Tablets, the company is clearly aiming to cover a wide range of users without pushing prices into premium territory.
