We’ve been tracking McDonald’s latest push to bring back affordability ever since the first rumors surfaced a few weeks back. Now the wait is officially over, and the Golden Arches has dropped the full details on its biggest value menu update in months.
Confirming those early leaks, the chain has locked in an April 21 launch date for the new under-$3 menu that includes at least 10 items available throughout the day.
Breakfast appears to be the strongest part of the lineup. What you get is a Sausage McMuffin, Sausage Biscuit, Sausage Burrito, Hash Browns, and a medium McCafé coffee, all under $3. Later in the day, the chain is offering the McChicken, McDouble, Chicken McNuggets (4 pieces), small fries, and a medium soft drink for the same price ceiling.
Some items will go even lower for limited times throughout the year, starting with the Sausage McMuffin at $1.50 and the McDouble at $2.50.
Stepped-up bundles and meal deals
The new menu takes things up a notch with a new $4 breakfast bundle where fans can get a hold of the Sausage McMuffin or Sausage Biscuit, Hash Browns, and a small coffee.
Lunch and dinner have their own meal deals, too, of course, with the McChicken priced at $5, the McDouble at $6, both with nuggets, fries, and a small drink of your choice. Prices and participation may vary by location.
Fast food pricing has been a running complaint for a couple of years now. McDonald’s has been building out its McValue platform in response. This is the latest addition to it.
