McDonald’s previously created Happy Meal toys for The Super Mario Bros. Movie back in 2023. Now the sequel is getting the same treatment.
The chain revealed its Super Mario Galaxy Movie lineup this week. Starting March 26, a brand-new lineup of The Super Mario Galaxy Movie Happy Meal toys is officially dropping, and it Includes 12 keychains, each featuring a different character from the film.
The full set includes Birdo, Bowser, Bowser Jr., Bowser Jr. (Wonder), Luigi (Frog Suit), Luma, Mario, Mario (Fire Flower), Princess Peach, Rosalina, Toad and Yoshi.
Each toy comes as a posable clip-on, which is a clever move. Plus, each one comes with a personalized display stand featuring different intergalactic backgrounds, so they’ll actually look lovely sitting on your desk or shelf too.
But for the hardcore Nintendo fans, the real draws are going to be Luigi in his iconic Frog Suit, Bowser Jr. (voiced by Benny Safdie), and the star of the show, Rosalina (who we now know will be voiced by Brie Larson).
Each Happy Meal box will feature a QR code that unlocks a digital adventure. Scanning it gives you access to puzzles and games on HappyMeal.com featuring Mario and friends’ latest journey. It’s a nice little tech-forward touch to keep the hype train moving until the movie’s premiere.
It’s worth noting for anyone who collected the first movie’s toys – the 2023 line looked noticeably different depending on where you were. To that effect, North America got plastic figures while Europe went with a build-your-own cardboard design. Whether the same regional split happens this time around hasn’t been confirmed yet.
