Love is in the air this week, but not everyone’s catching bouquets.
For the millions flying solo on Valentine’s Day, the days leading up to February 14th can feel like dodging a Hallmark grenade. The good news? Wendy’s is not interested in the couples’ crowd. While a lot of restaurant chains are getting ready for Valentine’s Day, the burger giant is aiming for the day after.
On Feb. 15, the chain will sell its regular Dave’s Single cheeseburger for $1. The deal is tied to National Singles Awareness Day and is available only through Wendy’s app or website. Like most restaurant promotions, this one requires another purchase to unlock the dollar burger.
The sandwich features a quarter-pound beef patty, American cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, diced onion, ketchup, and mayo on a toasted bun. At full price, it’s one of Wendy’s more expensive menu items. In Louisville, Kentucky, for example, the burger normally sells for $5.39.
The one-day promotion comes as Wendy’s continues to push value offers. The chain recently expanded its Biggie Deals lineup with new $4 Biggie Bites and $8 Biggie Bundle options alongside the existing $6 Biggie Bag.
Those offers land in a crowded value environment across the restaurant industry after chains began leaning harder into discounts in mid-2024, when executives began reporting a pullback from lower-income customers. By 2025, that slowdown had spread to middle-income diners as well.
Industry data suggests that trend may not be going away anytime soon. Analysts at the location intelligence platform Placer.ai predicted last month that value pricing will remain a major theme through 2026, forecasting a continued wave of low-priced combos, limited-time offers, and innovative promotions across fast food and casual dining.
Wendy’s latest move is a clear example of this strategy in action. The $1 Dave’s Single offer runs for one day only, Feb. 15, and requires ordering digitally.
