Holiday menus are landing everywhere right now at big restaurant chains. Starbucks switched over, Dunkin’ is already deep into peppermint season, and even Cracker Barrel is leaning hard into the whole Christmas jolly mood. Naturally, McDonald’s wasn’t going to sit out the shift, and sure enough, one of its most nostalgic items just slipped back onto the menu without much ceremony.

And honestly, that’s usually how this one returns. Quietly, and then suddenly everyone is talking about it.

The extremely popular Holiday Pie is officially back.

It’s the custard one. The glossy sugar-glazed handheld pie with the rainbow sprinkles. The one people treat like it’s a once-a-year reunion with an old friend. McDonald’s first introduced it back in 1999, which is long enough for a lot of customers to say they quite literally grew up with it. The Holiday Pie has 260 calories, which means it’s not to overindulgent.

However, it’s only available at participating locations, and only while supplies last.

So what happens to McDonald’s Pumpkin and Cream Pie now? Realistically, it’s probably on its way out until next fall. Some locations might overlap while they finish their fall inventory. If you time it just right, you could get lucky and walk into a McDonald’s with the Pumpkin and Cream Pie still warming in the case, the Holiday Pie freshly stocked, and the classic Apple Pie always sitting there like the dependable older sibling.

Some people call that a pie-fecta. They’re not wrong.
