Burger King is going full monster mode for Halloween — literally.
This week, Burger King Sri Lanka rolled out a new limited-time menu item called the Frankenstein Burger, a double-decker creation stacked with beef, chicken bacon, jalapeños, lettuce, tomato, and pickles — all sandwiched between an unmistakably green bun.
The vivid color isn’t just a gimmick; it’s the entire point. The chain says the Frankenstein Burger is meant to capture the fun, chaotic spirit of Halloween, giving customers something that looks like it crawled off a movie set.
Food blogger Snackolator shared the release on Instagram, calling it “a scary burger to eat” and noting its “deep green bun and a little spice with some jalapeños.” The Frankenstein Burger isn’t introducing a new flavor, but its visual impact alone is turning heads.
For Burger King, the experiment fits right in with its seasonal playbook. Over the years, the chain has leaned into Halloween with wild limited-edition releases — from black Whoppers to ghostly sundaes. The Sri Lanka launch adds another country to the growing list of markets testing spooky, shareable menu stunts.
The Frankenstein Burger (Halloween Edition) is available now for a short run across Burger King Sri Lanka locations, but like most seasonal promos, it’ll vanish once November hits.
It’s also part of a broader wave of Halloween tie-ins across fast food this year. In the U.S., Burger King has dropped its own line of themed Whoppers and frozen treats, while McDonald’s brought back its beloved Boo Buckets — this time adding two new designs, Cat and Zombie, alongside the classic Ghost, Pumpkin, and Goblin. Each pail comes with Halloween stickers, turning a kids’ meal into a mini craft kit.
From black buns to neon green, it’s clear the Halloween fast-food wars are alive — or maybe undead — and Burger King just gave “Frankenfood” a new face.
