Date cancelled: July 2019
The political thriller starring Kiefer Sutherland was picked up by Netflix for a 10-episode third season following its cancellation at ABC after two seasons. The streamer, however, announced in July 2019, that there would be no season 4. In an interview with Scala Radio, Sutherland, who also exec produced the series, revealed that viewing figures weren’t the main why the streaming service ultimately pulled the plug on the series.
“We had an amazing experience with Netflix and a kind of freedom that was wonderful. But the reality is because the contracts were so complicated and different from network television to Netflix, they didn’t book a lot of the actors who were on the show and they took other jobs. I don’t blame them for a second for that,” Sutherland said. “So I think doing a season four would be very complicated and difficult… I think it’s time for all of us to go and find something new to do.”
