Breakfast may be the most important meal of the day, but lunch is the most creative one! Thanks to innovative Moms like Laleh Mohmedi (@jacobs_food_diaries), lunch can now also look like edible art! Inspired by the most loved pop culture icons, this master chef mommy can turn sushi into Kung Fu Panda, Muesli bars into Spongebob Squarepants, and noodles into the Minions. Now, that’s how you take plating to the next level.

Whether you’re looking for a boost of inspiration for your kids’ meals or just want to learn a new culinary skill, you’ll love these edible masterpieces.

King Bob in the house! Laleh Mohmedi really captured the essence of the youngest minion and his teddy bear, making this one of the happiest plates we’ve ever seen. It’s amazing what people can create with noodles, eggs, mushrooms, and cabbage. We hope she makes Kevin and Stuart next time too!

#2 Kung Fu Panda Sushi

Can you unleash your inner chi like Po from Kung Fu Panda does? If you aren’t the best at martial arts, there’s no need to worry, because you can always channel your chi into your culinary adventures! This food sculpture of Food panda is made from sushi, and it looks way too artistic to eat. Can we just frame it, instead?

#3 Spongebob Square Muesli Bars

What do you get when you combine corn puffs, quinoa, oats, chia seeds, and a dash of Bikini Bottom flair? Spongebob Square muesli bars, of course!

Muesli or granola bars are specially formulated to give you a boost of healthy energy, so we think it’s totally fitting that Spongebob became the muse for these innovative snacks. We can already hear him hopping his way to the Krusty Krab…”I’m ready! I’m ready!”

#4 Peter Rabbit the Rice Bunny

Made from flatbread, olives, mustard, ham, black bean noodles, and over 4000 rice grains, this edible portrait took more than 10 hours to create! Patience and dedication at their finest! A perfect example of what the wise men mean with: “Nothing worth having ever came easy.”

You can always count on Tigger from Winnie The Pooh to make you smile with his zestful energy and optimism, which is exactly why the ingredients for this fruity sculpture correspond perfectly with his sunny personality!

Oranges, grapefruit, nectarine, dates, and apples will recharge your soul, so you can bounce around all day to create some friendly chaos just like Tigger does!

Valentine’s Day wouldn’t be complete without Ralph Wiggum from The Simpsons gifting you with a personalized greeting card. Constructed from mashed potatoes, eggs, veggies, and pancakes, this friendly kid knows how to radiate love. Don’t forget to let the people you love know that you choo-choo choose them every day!

#6 Mona Lisa Pizza

The Mona Lisa is a beautiful portrait painted by Italian artist, Leonardo da Vinci, but you already knew that! Hailed as an archetypal masterpiece, this gem is arguably the most famous work of art in the world. This eyebrowless muse’s name is mentioned in multiple songs, books, poetry, television, and fashion.

This Mona Lisa pizza is made from pesto, goat cheese, potato, mushroom, rocket, and eggplant. We’re not sure how we feel about it… should we eat it or should we hang it up in a museum?

#7 Marge Simpson the Breakfast Meal

Marge Simpson is iconic because of her towering blue hair, raspy voice, and infinite patience for the antics of Homer.

In case you want to replicate this artsy breakfast dish, all you’ll need is cornflakes, blueberries, raspberries, milk, and papaya powder. (Is it just us or do those cereal flakes make her look like she needs a facial?)

#8 Gordon Ramsay On a Plate

Mom turns her kid's lunches into edible pop culture icons 9
Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

Imagine if Gordon Ramsay would just critique every dish you ever made, including your green tea and morning cereal? (Insert terrified emoji)

Well, luckily, this Gordon Ramsay is made of mashed potatoes, pasta, wild rice, eggs, and flat bread, and it probably less critical about your dishes. You can relax now.

#9 Lumiere the Belgian Waffle

Lumiere is a charming candlestick who has a way with words. Without him, Beauty and the Beast wouldn’t be a tale as old as time. This striking Belgian waffle, ricotta, apple, and apricot offering is a wonderful dish that would encourage any kid to eat breakfast with a big smile.

#10 Sully the Shepherd’s Pie

Braised beef and mashed potatoes really bring out Sully’s charms. The friendly fur creature from Monsters Inc. is loyal and playful, which is exactly why kids, like Boo, love him!

#11 Carl Fredrickson the Holiday Roast

Mr. Fredrickson from Pixar’s Up is made us all ugly cry when he took us on a colorful adventure during the run of the movie. We get it, he’s responsible for all those boxes of tissues that we used up while bawling our eyes out, but that doesn’t mean people should turn him into a roast for the holidays… Someone, call Russell, stat!

#12 Peppa Pig Pasta

Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

In honor of National Spaghetti Day, this food artist decided to create Peppa Pig out of spaghetti, Napoli sauce, and beetroot dye. Fun fact: Peppa Pig’s fave food is spaghetti, so it couldn’t be more perfect for the occasion!

#13 Happy Birthday, Minnie and Mickey Mouse!

Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

To greet Minnie and Mickey a happy birthday last year on November 18th, Laleh Mohmedi created this ethereal dish composed of mashed potatoes, red capsicum, flatbread, black sesame seeds, dates, squash, and bocconcini. She really captured the magical Disney love that these two love birds have for each other. #MinnieAndMickeyForever!

#14 Queen Grimhilde the Black Fungi

Mom turns her kid's lunches into edible pop culture icons 15
Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

Queen Grimhilde is the epitome of a narcissist. Just because the magic mirror told her straight-up that Snow White is the fairest in the land, she had to go hire a huntsman to carve out the princess’ heart and when that didn’t pan out, she took matters into her own hands by offering her a poison apple.

The moral of the story? Don’t take food from random strangers, especially when they look shady like Grimhilde. On another note, even if this dish is made from mashed potatoes, black fungi, vermicelli noodles, apples, eggs, peas, and capsicum, there’s no way we’re eating it. Who knows if that apple is poisoned? And what if Grimhilde found out that we’re the fairest of them all and tries to poison us with it? (*Hair flip*).

#15 Gizmo the Smoothie

Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

If you watched this iconic movie, then you know that Gremlins multiply when they come in contact with water. Does that mean if we splash a few drops of water on this Gizmo smoothie bowl it will multiply too?

BRB, trying to create millions of Gizmos, because they’re cute and fluffy and we want everyone to have one.

#16 E.T. The Extra Fashionable

Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

All dressed up and nowhere to go? Well, you can blame it all on COVID-19 (and the people who refuse to mask up and practice physical distancing). Luckily, we aren’t alone in this predicament, because E.T. has also gotten all dolled up and is just waiting for the day when we can all head out into the world again.

#17 Spongebob and Patrick: Bestie Soup

Mom turns her kid's lunches into edible pop culture icons 18
Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

When the rain starts to pour and the temperature drops, it’s time to throw on a sweater, call up your best friends, surf Netflix, and whip up a batch of heartwarming wonton soup… in true Bikini Bottom style! We love how she so creatively incorporated tofu, kimchi, eggs, bok choy, carrots, fish broth, and enoki and spring onion wontons into this hearty Asian dish.

#18 Make a Statement With Food

Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

Laleh Mohmedi perfectly demonstrated that food isn’t just meant to look and taste good; she showed that food can also be used as a channel to make a statement about things that matter. It may just be a platter of food, but it also carries a profound message.

The bushfires in Australia devasted and broke our hearts. Forests were burned down and thousands of wildlife creatures lost their homes. Things like this should never ever happen again. Sending love and healing vibes!

#19 Sesame Street Toast

Mom turns her kid's lunches into edible pop culture icons 20
Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

Sesame Street is a huge hit with kids, but if you make them toast in the image of Big Bird, Grover, Elmo, and Oscar, will that encourage them to eat them or would it make them want to play with them instead? Either way, can’t believe how pretty these slices of toast are. The talent is real!

#20 Rapunzel and her Tangled Fettuccine

Mom turns her kid's lunches into edible pop culture icons 21
Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

Rapunzel is a free spirit who cannot be restricted by the confines of her tower in the forest. Just like many of us, she needs to live life in the most adventurous way possible. Explore, explore, explore!

However, not even this princess is exempted from quarantine. So, until COVID-19 is finally eradicated, she too will have to stay indoors and wear a mask. Oh well, at least she has Pascal, Maximus, and Flynn Rider to keep her company. Here’s to brighter days and more Rapunzel adventures ahead!

#21 Pinocchio the Starboy

Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

The tale of the one who wanted to be a real boy resonates throughout time and space. Tell us how you feel about this starry Pinocchio dish. Does it make you happy, glad, or ecstatic? Don’t lie now. If you do, your nose will grow.

#22 The Simpsons Ravioli

How to trick your kids or yourself into eating healthy blueberries? Well, turn them into a sculpture of Snow White. Or you could tell them that they’ll become the Fairest of Them All if they munch on berries. After all, they are a type of superfood that can detoxify your body and do wonders for your skin!

#24 Zootopia Bread

Let Nick Wilde, Judy Hopps, Assistant Bellweather, and Officer Clawhauser make your lunch breaks more fascinating (and healthier) than ever before. With these hearty snacks, you can indulge in roast chicken, carrots, hummus, cucumbers, cream cheese, strawberries, quail eggs, and mayonnaise. Life is a zoo, and that’s what makes it so fun and chaotic at the same time!

#25 Buzz Lightyear to Mashed Potatoes and Beyond

Mom turns her kid's lunches into edible pop culture icons 26
Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

Buzz Lightyear of Toy Story is fearless, brave, and sometimes…clueless, but that’s why we love him so much! With Woody, Bo Peep, Jessie, and the gang on his squad, there’s no stopping these amazing toys from going to infinity and beyond!

#26 Genie Rice

Mom turns her kid's lunches into edible pop culture icons 27
Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

Genie from Aladdin was brought to live live-action scene courtesy of Will Smith. This rice, mashed potato, egg, black bean noodle, and yellow capsicum portrait of the actor proves that he can rock any look! You think we can make three wishes now?

#27 Unicorn Duo

Mom turns her kid's lunches into edible pop culture icons 28
Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

With a little splash of color and cute googly eyes, you can transform any dish into an enchanting masterpiece! Looks like this unicorn duo is equipped with magical powers of happiness, love, healing, and prosperity.

They’re also here to remind you that you should always smile when eating and that we can all use a bit of magic in our steps! These unicorns are a true aesthetic.

#28 Baby Yoda On a Plate

Don’t worry, this isn’t the actual Baby Yoda from The Mandalorian, so you can eat this dish without feeling any guilt. If you’re a fan of roast chicken, mashed potatoes, and dates, enjoy this dish you will. Trust us, you must.

#29 Maleficent’s Veggie Glare

Mom turns her kid's lunches into edible pop culture icons 30
Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

Maleficent is scary as an animated villain, even scarier in a live-action movie, and terrifying as a mashed potato, eggplant, and fungi dish. While this piece may not be for eating, it does belong in a museum far far away…in a land wherein she can’t hurt us with her creepy glare.

#30 Goofy the Veggie Plate

Mom turns her kid's lunches into edible pop culture icons 31
Image From @jacobs_food_diaries

Roast chicken, mashed potatoes, wild rice, tomatoes, and broccoli are central elements in Lehleh Mohmedi’s edible art, but what’s amazing about this is that she can transform these simple ingredients into stunning works of art!

Goofy is a ray of sunshine and judging from the optimistic aesthetic of this veggie plate, even little kids will be excited to eat their leafy greens!
