If Disney Princesses aged: How would Disney characters look in their senior years?

Here’s how the Disney Princesses would look if they aged

Ariel and Senior Ariel

Most Disney movies about princesses end with weddings or marriage plans for the protagonists, but do you know that these characters are not even old enough to legally drink? According to several sources, the 12 official members of the Disney Princess line are all teenagers. Snow White is the youngest at 14, followed by the 15-year-old Jasmine, and 16-year-old Ariel, Aurora, Merida, Mulan, and Moana. Belle is 17; Pocahontas and Rapunzel are 18; and the oldest are Cinderella and Tiana, who are both 19.

While it’s hard to imagine how much the princesses have matured character-wise over the years, envisioning how much they have changed physically several decades later seems less difficult. In fact, illustrators Isaque Arêas and Isaiah Stephens have already created a number of fan art reimagining how the princesses would look if they aged. See Arêas and Stephens’ artworks, along with other fan art by talented artists, in the list below.

Frequently asked questions about Disney Princess movies

Can’t get enough of your favorite Disney princess? Here are some fun facts about the popular franchise:

1. Who was the first Disney Princess?

Snow White was the first Disney Princess. Snow White’s story was adapted from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale, first published in 1812. In the original story, Snow White is a young princess who escapes from her wicked stepmother, the Queen, by taking refuge in the forest. In Disney’s version, Snow White is an orphaned girl who is taken in by seven dwarfs, who protect her from the Queen’s evil schemes.

In both versions, the Queen is determined to be the most beautiful woman in the land and orders a huntsman to take Snow White into the forest and kill her. However, the huntsman is unable to bring himself to do so and instead leads Snow White to the dwarfs’ house. The Queen eventually discovers Snow White’s whereabouts and attempts to kill her with a poisoned apple. Luckily Snow White is saved by a handsome prince, and the two live happily ever after. Snow White’s story has become a timeless classic, with generations of children enjoying the story of the beautiful princess and her seven dwarfs.

2. Who was the first Disney Princess to wear pants?

Mulan was the first Disney Princess to wear pants. Mulan’s pants were an important symbol of her strength and independence throughout the movie. Not only did they make her stand out among the other Disney Princesses, they allowed her to move freely and fight against the Huns. Even after she was accepted into the Imperial Army, she continued to wear her pants as a symbol of her strength and courage.

Mulan’s pants also represented her determination to break free from the rigid and outdated gender roles of ancient China. By wearing pants, she was challenging traditional gender roles and showing that she could be strong and independent, even in a society that expected her to conform. In doing so, Mulan paved the way for future generations of women to be confident in their own strength and follow their own paths.

3. Who was the first Disney Princess to have a Scottish accent?

Merida from Brave was the first Disney Princess to have a Scottish accent. But more important than her accent is the fact that she is the only Disney Princess who doesn’t have a love interest. In the film, Merida is focused on her desire to be free and her struggle to change her fate, rather than finding a romantic partner. This makes her unique among the other Disney Princesses who often have a love interest as a central part of their storylines.
