Cause of death: Suicide by exsanguination

Avicii, whose real name is Tim Bergling, passed away on April 20th, 2018 in Muscat, Oman. No cause of death was immediately given, but almost two weeks later, TMZ reported that the cause of death was suicide due to self-inflicted injuries with a broken wine bottle, with the Swedish DJ eventually dying of blood loss or exsanguination.

Avicci scored his first record deal after he started posting his remixes on electronic music forums at the age of 16. In 2013, he released his first studio album, True, which was followed by his second studio album Stories in 2017. His third album, Tim, was released posthumously in 2019.
