Judge Judy’s ongoing 25th season is its last. The arbitration-based reality court show will end its run this year. During an appearance on Ellen in March 2020, star Judy Sheindlin revealed that CBS, which distributes the show, was the one that pulled the plug on the series.

“I’ve had a 25-year-long marriage with CBS and it’s been successful. Next year will be our 25th season, silver anniversary,” Sheindlin said at the time. “And CBS, I think, sort of felt they wanted to optimally utilize the repeats of my program because now they have 25 years of reruns. So what they decided to do was to sell a couple of years’ worth of reruns.”

Sheindlin, however, said that she’s “not tired,” so she’ll star in a similar yet new show called Judy Justice, which will stream on Amazon’s ad-supported IMDb TV.

Created by Kaye Switzer and Sandi Spreckman, Judge Judy features Sheindlin adjudicating real-life small-claim disputes within a simulated courtroom set. Prior to the proceedings, all involved parties signed arbitration contracts agreeing to Sheindlin’s ruling.
