Network: Disney Channel, Disney XD
No. of Seasons: 3
The third and final season of DuckTales ended its run last March. While Disney didn’t give a reason why the animated series wrapped with season 3, it is believed that DuckTales was not renewed for a fourth season because it had already surpassed the so-called “65th episode rule.” Part of the Disney Channel’s programming strategy in the ‘90s and 2000s, the said rule saw hit shows like Even Stevens and Lizzie McGuire end after reaching 65 episodes, as shows with 65 episodes could be syndicated by Disney every day for 13 weeks.
A reboot of the original 1987 series of the same name, DuckTales centers on the lives of Scrooge McDuck and his family as they engage in a variety of adventures around the world, as well as in the fictional city of Duckburg. It also tells deeper character stories involving Donald Duck.
