No. of Seasons: 6

Canceled by NBC in December 2020, Superstore ended its six-season run last March. The network didn’t give an exact reason for the show’s cancellation, but the decision to wrap the sitcom with season 6 might have something to do with America Ferrera’s departure from the series.

Ferrera announced her exit from the show in February 2020, and though her last appearance was supposed to happen at the end of season 5, she ended up reprising her role as Amy Sosa in the first two episodes of season 6, after season 5 was cut short due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Though Superstore features an ensemble cast, Ferrera is undoubtedly the sitcom’s biggest star, and her absence likely led to the producers’ decision to end the series altogether.

Created by Justin Spitzer, Superstore follows a group of employees working at Cloud 9, store number 1217, a fictional big-box store in St. Louis, Missouri. In addition to Ferrera, the sitcom also stars Ben Feldman, Lauren Ash, Colton Dunn, Nico Santos, Nichole Sakura, Mark McKinney, and Kaliko Kauahi.
