No. of Season: 2
CBS announced last May that it opted not to renew All Rise for a third season. The legal drama was one of the canceled TV shows of 2021 that ultimately got the axe following a behind-the-camera drama. All Rise’s cancellation came less than two months after series creator and co-showrunner Greg Spottiswood was fired from the show following a probe into allegations of race and gender issues in the show’s writer room.
Based on the 2005 book Courtroom 302 by Steve Bogira, All Rise revolves around the personal lives and relationships of the judges, lawyers, clerks, and law enforcement officers in a Los Angeles courthouse. Simone Missick stars as newly appointed judge Lola Carmichael, a highly regarded and impressive former deputy district attorney who does not intend to sit back on the bench in her new role, but instead leans in, immediately pushing the boundaries and challenging the expectations of what a judge can be.
