Mel Gibson – $30 million (Lethal Weapon 4, 1998)
After Lethal Weapon 3 hit theaters in 1992, Mel Gibson said that he would never do another installment of the buddy cop film series. But six years later, Gibson returned to the franchise and earned $30 million for Lethal Weapon 4 ― the highest salary ever paid to an actor for a single project in 1998.
Gibson is confirmed to return for a fifth Lethal Weapon movie, titled Lethal Finale. The sequel was supposed to be directed by franchise director Richard Donner. But after Donner died in July 2021, it was reported that Gibson has been approached for potentially directing the film.
